EKN footwear are made from a variety of environmentally friendly produced leathers and vegan non-animal textiles. In keeping up with sustainability here’s a guide to taking care of your EKN footwear. Wear them well, care for them often.

Leathers

If it’s a hard surfaced leather eg. Full Grain, Oiled Leather:

• Wipe any surface dirt or dust dab with a damp cloth.
• To maintain, apply full grain leather cream or conditioner regularly.
• Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

If it’s a soft surfaced leather. Eg. Suede or Nubuck:

• Brush any surface dirt or dust for even colour.
• Apply suede and nubuck cleaner for deeper marks and brush in the direction of the nap (the hairs on the surface).
• To prevent damage, treat with suede and nubuck protector.
• Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

Non-Leathers (Canvas, Denim, Vegan Suede)

• Wipe any surface dirt or dust dab with a damp cloth.
• For deeper cleaning, use color-safe cleaning solution.
• While cleaning, please avoid any leather details.
• Dry thoroughly and store away from direct sunlight and heat.

We generally advise against cleaning EKN shoes in the washing machine. The handmade nature of the shoes needs a gentle approach to care.
