Book of Birkenstock
- Description
The Book of BIRKENSTOCK is a premium coffee table title that takes the reader on an immersive, never-before-seen journey through the brand’s remarkable visual history.
Created in collaboration with BIRKENSTOCK by two visionary names in graphic design and publishing—Bureau Borsche and Steidl—the project offers a lush storytelling tapestry, weaving together 250 years of tradition in shoemaking across 688 pages.
Developed, designed, and printed in Germany, this new tome is crafted with a multitude of premium, German-made paper stocks, reflecting the tactile, handmade nature of the BIRKENSTOCK product, topped off with a beautifully debossed cover. While magnificent to hold, the title’s true richness comes to life through the rare and unseen material that comprises a timeline traversing 1,000 images and tens of thousands of words of relevant text. From the biggest names in film and fashion to a fascinating story of the Birkenstock family history, the book is a true visual time capsule of a quarter-millennium story of tradition, function, and quality.

Story Behind the Brand
Design icon, lifestyle or health product: No matter how complex, captivating and divisive Birkenstock might be, it’s all really quite simple. From its humble origins in 1774, Birkenstock have been making shoes with their iconic cork footbed and have never compromised on functionaility and quality. Shoes based on tradition that are durable, sustainable and perfectly handcrafted. Shoes that are a home for your feet.
Birkenstock Care Guide
To extend the life of your Birkenstocks they should be stored away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. Unless it's a water-friendly EVA style, Birkenstocks should not be immersed in water - this will damage the cork footbed over time.
For any leather/suede uppers, use a leather conditioner and suede brush to maintain the finish and surface of the leathers. Vegan and EVA styles can be wiped with a soft damp cloth.
Almost all Birkenstock styles can be repaired at any certified workshop.
