Jet Amber | Green Solid Lens
MONOKEL EYEWEAR
- Description
A new addition to Monokel Eyewear the ”JET” is a 70s inspired aviator frame, handmade in biodegradable acetate.
The Amber colourway offers timeless style to wear for years to come - another way we like to lessen the need for overconsumption. We make our Amber colourway by mixing organic color powder with raw biodegradable cellulose acetate. The result is a highly durable, hypoallergenic material, made from renewable resources. The soft speckled pattern is made by stirring small pellets of various hues of orange, yellow and red, thus making the pattern on every frame unique - no two pairs alike.
Aviator pilots of the 1930s are often credited with making green lenses popular, choosing to wear them due to their ability to work in both sunny and low-light environments while reducing glare and brightening shadows. All our lenses feature anti-scratch and anti-reflective treatment with 100% UVA/UVB protection.

Story Behind the Brand
Monokel Eyewear is a unisex sunglass label based in Stockholm, Sweden. The main material in their frames is a premium plant-based acetate, and all-black frames are made with recycled acetate. The lenses are made by Carl Zeiss Vision. Each frame is handcrafted with tremendous attention to detail in a process taking well over three months. Monokel's brand philosophy stems from a mix of simplicity and functionalism, paired with an endless curiosity for the human mind and its need for creative expression.
